FCC Seeks Comment on PPM Filing

The FCC has set September 24 as the deadline for Comments on the Emergency Petition filed by a PPM Coalition claiming the new electronic ratings system could hurt minority broadcasters and defeat the Commission's diversity goals. The filing follows a July 28 action by the agency's Advisory Committee on Diversity.

Report: WJJZ-FM/Philadelphia to Drop Smooth Jazz
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Greater Media will flip Smooth
Jazz WJJZ-FM/Philadelphia to the stunt mode Friday night with plans to
launch a new, unannounced format on Monday, September 8 at 9am. Smooth Jazz
has aired in Philadelphia since 1993, first on Clear Channel's WJJZ at 106.1

Arbitron to Host Back-to-Back Urban Sales Clinics
Arbitron will expand its annual Urban Sales Clinic geared towards helping
Sales Managers and senior sellers get the most out of their station's diary
as well as Portable People Meter (PPM) ratings. The clinics will be held
back-to-back over two-days on September 30 and October 1 at the Hyatt
Regency in Atlanta.

Chad Heritage Promoted to Clear Channel/Little Rock OM
Country KSSN-FM (Kissin' 96) and Country KMJX-FM (The Wolf)/Little Rock
Program Director Chad Heritage is promoted to Operations Manager of Clear
Channel's cluster there. He will continue as PD of both KSSN and KMJX, as
well as his afternoon show on KSSN. Previously, Heritage programmed co-owned
Classic Country KHKN-FM.

Digital media firm American Media Services Interactive (AMSi) appoints
Melissa Rapp as VP/Sales and Eric Floyd as Sales Director/West Coast. Before
joining AMSi, Rapp held a leadership position with MediaSpan Online
Services. Previously, Floyd worked in the development of marketing campaigns
for entertainment, automotive and consumer package goods industries with
clients that include Toyota, Ford, Nestle, HBO, NBC and Universal Studios.

Salem/Omaha to Air Spanish Christian Teaching & Talk
Following a day of stunting with Spanish-language Christmas music, Salem
said it would flip Conservative Talk KOTK-AM/Omaha to Spanish Christian
Teaching & Talk as "La Luz" ("The Light"). The station is now airing Spanish
Christian music and debut its new format on September 12. The move marks
Salem's sixth outlet to adopt a Spanish Christian Teaching & Talk format.

Former Employee Charged with Firebombing GA Station
A grand jury has indicted Hong Chae, 51, after the former sales employee
walked into the Korean Media Group's WPBC-AM/Duluth, GA, last June and set
off an explosive device -- severely burning himself and injuring news
anchor, Kevin Kim. Chae is charged with arson, manufacturing explosive
devices, aggravated battery and making terroristic threats against the
Korean-formatted station, known as "Atlanta Radio Korea."

lineup airing from 1-4pm beginning September 8. Seacrest's three-hour music

to host the Monday Morning Quarterback Show from 6 to 8am. The show will be

Game." The duo will also host a weekly pre-game show tailgate party every
Sunday from 11am-1pm.
